How to Schedule a Trip
For WTA’s On-Demand services within the state of North Carolina, trip schedules must be made 24 hours in advance for guaranteed service. Trips out of town must be scheduled 48 hours in advance. If a trip is needed on the same day of scheduling, WTA’s dispatcher will attempt to schedule you if possible, but same day scheduling is not guaranteed. Office hours are 8:30am till 5:30pm Monday through Friday. To schedule, contact WTA at 336-838-1272 with your pick-up and drop off location 911 addresses. For commonly requested locations, such as shopping centers and restaurants, 911 addresses are not required. Upon arrival, WTA drivers are allowed to wait only 5 minutes for you to board the vehicle. After this 5 minute courtesy, drivers will nullify your schedule request to be able to quickly provide service to other customers. WTA On-Demand services will car-pool customers whenever it is a viable option; therefore on your trip it is possible you will be stopping at another pick-up location to board another customer.
The WTA Dispatcher will schedule the trip based upon available resources and advise the passenger of the planned departure and arrival times. WTA will make every effort to transport all passengers on time. However, conditions beyond WTA’s control may cause limited delays or early arrivals. Leaving a message on the WTA voice mail does not constitute a confirmed or scheduled trip.
